We choose this work because we care

The team at Directions Youth Services is a passionate bunch – passionate about ending youth homelessness; about supporting Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+ and other marginalized folks; and about being there 24/7 so that these young people have someone in their corner.

Our youth workers reflect the unhoused youth population, so that every kid that comes through our doors can find someone to relate to and build trust with. These skilled staff ensure our sites are safe and non-judgmental. They give youth the space they need to decompress, shower, and eat a meal. Then we can focus on the future by giving youth a voice to identify and set their own goals.

Directions Youth Services is a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver (FSGV). This means we can provide even more services in support of homeless youth through referrals to FSGV counselling, parent-teen mediation, financial empowerment programs, and more. It means we can amplify the important work happening at Directions to a broader audience at FSGV.

The agency is also led by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors and an experienced, compassionate senior leadership team. Together, they bring a depth of experience in the non-profit, community-building and social services sector, as well as business, government, the law, and Indigenous issues to Directions and our clients.
