How do I get a shift with Street Youth Job Action?

  • Shifts are available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays (not Wednesdays)
  • Come to the Directions Youth Services Centre at 1138 Burrard St. in Vancouver between 8:309:30 AM.
  • The jobs are handed out at 9:30 AM.
  • You have to be at the Centre to get a job but we can’t guarantee you will get one.
  • Directions Street Youth Job Action program really made a huge difference in my life. They gave me much more than a daily paycheque. I got more confidence in myself since they trusted me. Having them on my resume is what allowed me to get off welfare.

What kind of work is it?

  • Street beautification (street garbage removal, graffiti paint-over, posted bill removal)
  • Needle sweeps / condom pick-up & safe disposal
  • Event clean up
