Come Check Out Our Drop-In

Need a safe place to hang out for a while? Need to sit down, relax, shower, do laundry, and eat something? You can spend some time in our Centre during our drop-in hours. During our drop-in, you can connect with helpful and professional staff that are always available to connect you with whatever supports you need. We have comfortable spots for you to hang out and watch some TV, play a game, or access a computer. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We also give away fruit, vegetables, and other food when we have it, so if you have a place and need an emergency hamper, please ask! We do our best to accommodate allergies and special dietary needs.

Need to Do Laundry? Have a Shower?

We know how challenging it can be to keep yourself and your stuff clean without a stable place to live. Our Drop-In Centre has showers and laundry for you to use. You can also get hygiene supplies and everything else that you need to take care of yourself. Suffering from really bad street feet? Ask our staff about an Epsom salt foot soak.

Need to Find Shelter?

If it’s just for tonight, or a few days, we can make shelter calls for you. During the winter months we may also have beds available on-site – please call for more info.

Looking for Your Own Place?

We have a Housing worker who can help you find your own place. This means helping with housing searches, viewings, moving, and possibly even providing some of the basics when you move in.

Want Supportive Housing?

If you are under 20, have a Ministry (or VACFSS) social worker, and are interested in a more independent living situation that still provides support, you can ask about the 10K Supported Housing Program! Connect with your social worker for a referral.

Looking for Work?

We also offer a pre-employment program called Street Youth Job Action (SYJA). With SYJA you can earn money (get paid the same day you participate!) while you gain work experience, employment skills and references. We can also help you with job searches, including help writing and printing your resume.

If you want to look into Income Assistance or Disability, we can help you with that too – just ask at the Intake Desk or call us!

 Do You Have a Pet?

We have a pet room and kennels, so your pet can stay safe while you are using our resource. Does your pet need anything? We can help you with pet food and supplies, or you can drop by on Thursdays from 8 to 9pm to speak with an SPCA worker. If your pet needs to see the vet or you have any other pet-related concerns, check in with staff! We’ll do our best to help.

Need help on the streets? Look out for Outreach!

Outreach staff walk around the streets and alleys of Downtown, the West End, and the Downtown Eastside – we’re around if you need something, or if you just want someone to talk to. We’re able to lend a friendly ear or help you out with anything from socks and snacks to getting you connected to things like detox or shelters.

What we carry:
– Snacks
– Water
– Harm reduction gear
– Narcan/Naloxone kits
– Basic first aid

We’re often wearing big orange backpacks and black Directions t-shirts. Feel free to say hi if you see us!
